Created in Paris in May 2020.

"La Première Vague" or The First Wave shows a black sand beach, where a turbulent turquoise water moves toward the shore. Inspired by the "wave" of COVID, it reflects the uncertainty of the time. I gifted it to my grandfather, with whom I often painted the coasts of Finistère (France) when I was younger, as a reminder of those shared moments. Today, it proudly hangs in his living room, near his sofa, and it still touches me every time I see it.
