Les baigneuses

Created in Montreal in April 2024.

I was inspired by Wes Anderson's visual style to create this retro and vibrant atmosphere. "Les Baigneuses" or "The Bathers" captures an animated and intimate scene, where five women in colorful swimsuits share secrets on the poolside benches. The vivid colors and relaxed mood evoke a moment of camaraderie and enjoyment. The blue ceramic tiles on the wall in the background add rhythm to the composition – I actually spent a lot of time creating each one by hand! The reflection in the water adds movement and depth to the whole piece.
